Since joining Twitter I’ve noticed the proliferation of microfiction. From 150 characters, to a story in a sentence, everything is getting shorter and shorter. Perhaps it says much about our attention spans and it made me think about Japanese mobile phone novels and how difficult it would be to write a story, text at a time, and maintain the interest of your readers. Or a novel entirely in text talk? The idea makes me want to shudder slightly but someone could do it well.
