Holdfast Anthology #2 – Indiegogo

Holdfast has launched its Indiegogo campaign for the second annual anthology in glorious print with illustrations galore. This campaign will not only produce a beautiful paperback and ebook anthology, it also aims to pay both writers and artists who have contributed to making this lovely wee magazine what it is.

The Holdfast editors Laurel Sills and Lucy Smee are amazing. I’m not just saying that because they published my story The Water Museum. Read my original post on what inspired me to write that story here. They are also really pushing the boundaries of short fiction in the UK, something we often rely on  US publications to do. They consciously have an aim to question the status quo in the SFF genre, encouraging LGBTQ and PoC’s voices. But they also have literary bent and publish beautiful, poetic and emotional work. The website has themed issues and I love that they include relevant non-fiction, music and films to really immerse the reader into the topic. Their next call for submissions is the very controversial and timely topic of Brexit and I can’t wait to see what people will write for it.

So keep this British Fantasy Award-winning magazine (and nominated again this year!) afloat and get your hands on a lovely print copy of issues 5-8 for a mere 15 pounds or more if you want other perks.
